Channel 5 launched Big Brother this year on the back of a relatively successful Celebrity Big Brother 2011. At its launch they were hoping that the audience would stay with the show once the celebrities drift back to their normal way of life.
However, their worst fears were realised when the audience started to fall, and there doesn’t seem to be an end in sight soon.
The launch of Big Brother 2011 saw an audience of 5 million tuning in to see Brian Dowling introduce the housemates of 2011, but ever since then the audience as tailed off to now less than 900,000 it was revealed today.
The latest episode of the reality show limped through the hour highlights with just 890,000 viewers last night.
It’s sure to be worrying news for Channel 5 bosses, with still a month of the series to go and nine housemates remaining.
