Matt Flint was tonight named Britain’s Favourite Dancer in the final of So You Think You Can Dance 2011. The tap dancer from Scarborough came top of the public vote in tonight’s live final, while Luke Jackson finished runner up
The first result in tonight’s final to be announced was fourth place, which went to Kirsty Swain. Kirsty told host Cat Deeley: “I never thought I’d make it this far, I am absolutely grateful, thank you so much for getting me this far you’ve made my dreams come true. If I’ve inspired anybody to go for their dreams just do it because it can happen.”
Katie Love finished in third place. And speaking after her elimination, Katie explained: “I’ve learnt so much about myself about dancing I’m a bit lost for words. It’s been incredible, it’s the most incredible experience and most amazing opportunity. Can I just take this opportunity to thank the team that have looked after us at the BBC.”
She added: “I’ve learned so much and I’ll take so much away from this. Thank you, thank you.”
29-year-old Matt Flint will walk away with the winners prize of £50,000 and the chance to dance in Hollywood on the final of the US version of So You Think You Can Dance.
