Last night we say Katie Waissel sent home from the X Factor after many weeks of fighting to stay in the show.

Katie became the 10^th contestant to leave the show but was one of most controversial candidates the X Factor has ever seen. Having been in the bottom two four times before this week, Katie polled the lowest number of votes in a double eviction week and was sent home immediately.

Speaking about her elimination on Sunday night, Katie told Dermot O’Leary:

I just feel so grateful to have even gotten this far. Everyone has been so wonderful and amazing and I hope that I’ve just inspired people that no matter how many knocks you get you still put your head up and you smile.

I have had the most wonderful time here and hopefully this isn’t the end of a beautiful journey. Thank you everyone for supporting and believing in me.

The other person booted off the X Factor on Sunday along with Katie, was Wagner Carillho.
