It is the Junior MasterChef semi-finals and the semifinalist first task of the day is to cook up a lunchtime feast for staff at London Zoo.
Meet the semifinalist:
Amelie age 10, from North Yorkshire
Jonah age 12, from Cheshire
Safiyyah age 11, from Harrow
Phoebe age 12, from Kent
Mya age 9, from Middlesex
Barney age 10, Lewes.
The young cooks are tasked with cooking up a tasty two course seafood lunch on the barbecue that included salmon fish cakes and garlic mayonnaise for three hungry penguin Zoo staff.
After their assignment at the zoo, the six young cooks have one more challenge where they must impress Junior MasterChef judges John Torode and Donal Skehan before two of them are sent home. They must cook a dish that shows off their personality, and is good enough to keep them in the competition.
After doing all that they could in the kitchen it was Safiyyah and Jonah that lost their place in the competition but they got a lot from the experience and are definitely two professional chefs in the making.
