Celebrity MasterChef has created a new challenge for the contestant this year in the semi-finals. It is called the relay invention test that brings game play and added stress to the kitchen for the remaining celebs.

The six celebs are split into two teams and both teams must create one dish between them using a chicken and a range of vegetables, herbs and spices. Each team member has 20 minutes to make their contribution to the dish without communicating with one another – so each cook must attempt to decipher what the dish is meant to be from the clues left behind by their teammate, and then carry on.

Both teams must play carefully to their strengths. With the first team member being responsible for designing and starting to cook the dish, the second celebrity doing the main body of the dish and the third finishing and presenting it.

Once the fun and games are over in the kitchen and the judges deliver their critique, the celebs head over to the Bingham Hotel in Richmond upon Thames for their second task.
