Who won MasterChef 2014 and was crowned Champion after producing the best recipes in the MasterChef 2014 Final? Ping Coombes from Bath

Ping was crowned winner and the tenth MasterChef 2014 Champion after producing the best recipes and plates of Malaysian food in tonight’s final.

After a tough eight-week competition that saw dozens of cooks enter the MasterChef kitchen , the search for the country’s best amateur cook is finally at an end.

The three worthy finalists – Ping Coombes from Bath, Jack Lucas from Solihull and Luke Owen from Manchester – pushed themselves to the limit for one last time tonight before judges John Torode and Gregg Wallace crowned their winner.

For their final task the finalist were given 3 hours to cook three dishes that showcased everything they have learned, to demonstrate what sort of cook each has become. They were on a mission to push culinary boundaries and give the judges an awe-inspiring tasting like never before.

However, in the end Jack and Luke did as much as they could on the day, but there was no stopping Ping. She served up a culinary master-class that wowed the judges.

After being presented with her MasterChef winner’s trophy, Ping said:

“The last time I felt such emotion, was when my daughter was born; Something I don’t think you get to experience a lot. Pure joy and pure bliss that feels incredible! Epic!”

“My mother will be really proud I’m sure.

“She still won’t let me in her kitchen,” added Ping.
