MasterChef 2014 finalist Luke, Ping, Angela and Jack set to do battle in the final week

Today we saw the last of the semi-final rounds where the five remaining cooks battled it out in the kitchen to try and book their place in the prestigious MasterChef final week. But for one cook, it will be their last meal served up in the Masterchef kitchen.

Michael, Luke, Ping, Angela and Jack had just one challenge today: to create a meal for John and Gregg that would simply knock their socks off. The judges had no idea what they are going to taste, as they set the clock and remove themselves to the dining room, leaving the contestants to manage their own timing and concentrate on the dish that will keep them in the competition.

They were given just one hour and fifteen minutes to create their masterpiece. In the end Ping and Angela made it to the top of the class with their dishes and sailed through to the final. It was then down to the judges to fill the final two places from the three remaining cooks based on the dishes they produced. In the end it was Michael who they felt did not do enough to satisfy their taste buds and was given his bus fare home.

Jack, Angela, Ping and Luke are therefore the finalists of MasterChef 2014 and will compete for the title next week.
