16 year old Dwayne Edgar delivered a memorable performance at The X Factor Dublin auditions that blew away the judges and studio audience alike.
In his rendition of ‘Don’t Stop Believing’, Dawyne work the stage like a Pro. It was simply amazing for a young man of his age. The only chink in his armour was unfortunately an important one, his voice.
Speaking beforehand to the panel, Edgar said: “I want to be like Robbie Williams because I haven’t got the best voice but hopefully I’ll entertain the crowd here today.”
When Cheryl Cole described his energetic performance as “adorable”, a pleased Edgar added: “Cheryl Cole said that I was adorable. Stick that up your rocket!”
Simon Cowell gave him a No vote, but praised his enthusiasm, commenting: “I’ve never liked someone who can’t sing well, so much… But within a singing competition you are going to get a mauling here.”
Louis Walsh and Cole both backed the youngster, leaving the final decision down to guest judge Katy Perry.
“You have got all the right moves. You just need to stop putting all your energy into that and work on your vocals next time,” said US popstar Katy Perry, before sending him through to the next stage of the competition.
