The X Factor returned to our screens on Saturday night and once again it is the personalities and the eccentrics that make the headlines. But here at the Thetalentzone we like to look for a contestant that could immerge as a dark horse and go all the way to the finals with minimum fuss or expectation.

This week we think that contestant could be Holly Burns. Holly, 25 from Glasgow who work as a waitress and sing in pubs and clubs, impressed the judges with her rendition of Radiohead’s Creep.

Cheryl Cole said that Holly’s performance was her favourite audition of the day.

Simon Cowell rejected Holly’s original song choice and asked her to sing something else. She went on to suggest a few other alternative songs but they were also rejected. Eventually Simon was happy with Creep. Needless to saw he went on to take the praise for Holly’s brilliant performance on the night.
