2011: X Factor Week 3 Song Theme Revealed

X Factor week 3 song themeI don’t know about you, but frankly that ‘Love and Heartbreak’ theme at the weekend did not live up to much. When Kitty Brucknell is awarded best act of the night, it is saying something about the rest of the field. But we have to admit, she surprised a lot of people on the night including us. However it was Misha B, The Risk and Rhythmix that wowed us on Saturday, but hats off to Kitty for doing what she believes in and doing will on the night.

That said, thank goodness for a brand new week and a brand new theme!

On the ITV This Morning program, X Factor correspondent Jeff Brazier revealed that he was at the live show on Saturday and was informed that this Saturday night, the final 11 contestants will be singing songs to fit with a Motown / R&B theme.

Brazier told Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby:

“I have it on good authority that we’re going to see a bit of Motown R&B.”

He also admitted that he thinks the theme will particularly suit Liverpool lad Marcus Collins, adding:

“I think that’s going to suit Marcus.”

While Marcus Collins and Misha B will surely flourish, it’s going to be a tough week for the likes of Janet Devlin, Sophie Habibis, Frankie Cocozza… the list goes on.

However, we have since learnt that the theme will not in fact be Motown and R&B, but will instead be a Rock theme. This should be ideally suited to Frankie Cocozza so he might escape the bottom two this week.
