Marcus Collins debut albumX Factor star Marcus Collins is busy working on his debut album and he described the album as “contemporary and broad”. He also revealed that he wants to “make people feel good” through his new music.

Collins told the Daily Star: “I want people to be uplifted and to make songs that will make people feel good, to take their stress away.

“I used to buy music when I was skint in the hope of achieving that, and I hope this album will do the same. I hope it will cheer everyone up in this recession.”

X Factor judge Gary Barlow is a co-writer and executive producer on the album and has been working with the star constantly since the beginning of the year.

Collins added: “It might seem quick to some people but I’ve got so much to say I’ve been in lockdown in the studio since January 1.

“I was writing on the show and found that music was like therapy. When we’re in the studio Gary and I start off with a cup of tea like good Northern lads.

“It’s been amazing to work with Gary as I really look up to him. He feels like extended family to me now as I’ve met all his family and friends.”

Collins is expected to release the album on March 12th .
