{"id":11431,"date":"2013-12-05T19:05:51","date_gmt":"2013-12-05T18:05:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/thetalentzone.co.uk\/musictv\/?p=11431"},"modified":"2013-12-13T19:57:17","modified_gmt":"2013-12-13T18:57:17","slug":"nigel-slater-spiced-chicken-parcel-on-nigel-and-adams-farm-kitchen","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thetalentzone.co.uk\/musictv\/11431\/nigel-slater-spiced-chicken-parcel-on-nigel-and-adams-farm-kitchen\/","title":{"rendered":"Nigel Slater Spiced Chicken Parcel on Nigel and Adam&#8217;s Farm Kitchen"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On this week\u2019s Nigel and Adam&#8217;s Farm Kitchen, Nigel went to Manchester to draw inspiration for his chicken pie dish.<\/p>\n<p>He visited a number of foreign restaurants to sample their cuisine and returned to his kitchen to invent a dish drawing from what he had seen and tasted.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/thetalentzone.co.uk\/musictv\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/chickenparcel.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/thetalentzone.co.uk\/musictv\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/chickenparcel.png\" alt=\"\" title=\"chicken parcel\" width=\"590\" height=\"313\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-11432\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thetalentzone.co.uk\/musictv\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/chickenparcel.png 590w, https:\/\/thetalentzone.co.uk\/musictv\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/chickenparcel-300x159.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 590px) 100vw, 590px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Nigel borrowed ideas from his visit to an Indian, Greek and Chinese restaurant, and produced his spiced chicken parcel pie.<\/p>\n<p>To make is pie, Nigel browns chicken thighs in a little olive oil. He then adds cayenne pepper, turmeric and garma masala and stirred.<\/p>\n<p>Nigel then adds basmati rice, chicken stock and seasoning, stirred and brought to the boil. He reduced the heat and allowed the chicken to simmer for about ten minutes.<\/p>\n<p>He then laid out a sheet of filo pastry and spread peppery butter over it. The content of the pan is spooned over the pastry then fold to create a parcel. He finally decorates by ripping an additional piece of pastry, buttered and place on top of the parcel.
