The 2012 Isle Of White music festival kicks off on the 22nd of June and aim to be just as enjoyable as in previous years.
This year the Festival is moving from its usual weekend to make way for the Golden Jubilee and half term celebrations.
The very first Isle of Wight Festival took place way back in 1968 at Ford Farm near Godshill. The bands that played in that inaugural year included Jefferson Airplane, The Move, The Crazy World of Arthur Brown, Plastic Penny and The Mirage. By 1970, the Isle of Wight Festival had become a major attraction for music fans everywhere and the line-up became world class.

Location: Seaclose Park, Newport, Isle of Wight.
Line-up: This year the line up includes – Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers, Pearl Jam, and Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band will headline the Sunday, with Elbow, Biffy Clyro, Noel Gallagher, Example, The Darkness, Feeder, Professor Green, Wretch 32, Loick Essien, Clement Marfo & the Frontline, Noah & The Whale, The Vaccines, Madness, Crystal Castles, The Charlatans, Tinie Tempah, Band Of Skulls, Labrinth, Joan Armatrading, Groove Armada Present Red Light, Black Stone Cherry, Spector, Zulu Winter, Terry Reid, Brit Floyd, and more.
