One Direction American tour dates revealed

One Direction are leaving the UK behind and jetting off on their tour of America.

The X Factor boyband have announced the dates for their first American tour in early 2012.

The tour comes on the back of chart success in the UK where they stormed the charts with two top ten single releases and their debut album   ‘Up All Night’ entered the charts at number two; One D now hopes to replicate that success in the US.

Niall Horan, Harry Styles, Zain Malik, Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson recently signed a deal with Columbia Records and today the label announced that the record “Up All Night” is set for a U.S. release on March 20, 2012. The boyband will also be performing as the opening act for Big Time Rush on a North American tour.

A statement from Columbia stated:

February 25, 2012: Detroit – Fox Theatre
February 26, 2012: Toronto – Air Canada Centre
February 28, 2012: Albany, NY – Palace Theatre
March 1, 2012: Mashantucket, CT – Foxwoods
March 2, 2012: Washington, DC – Patriot Center
March 3, 2012: Boston – Agganis Arena
March 6, 2012: Durham, NC – Durham PAC
March 7, 2012: Nashville – Bridgestone Arena
March 9, 2012: New York City – Radio City Music Hall.
