Duane Bryan led Team Sterling to victory in tonight’s episode of the Apprentice after developing a delicious luxury Pineapple and Chilli Chutney.
However, their initial attempt to develop the Chutney saw Bryan retching at his own produce on tonight’s condiment challenge set by Lord Sugar.
Bryan ended up looking for a sick bucket after tasting a sample of the produce and it left Lord Sugar’s aide Nick Hewer bewildered by the team’s efforts:
“Too much chilli by a factor of three and what we ended up with was a vicious chilli chutney,” says Hewer. “That means no samples will arrive because they can’t send that lot out.”
The production team’s error means that the sub team led by Nick Holzherr was forced to pitch the chutney without any for buyers to taste.
“It was very embarrassing pitching without a product,” he says. “I thought Duane and myself should be able to turn this losing team around but it’s just not happening. It’s very frustrating, it’s a total shambles, it’s fallen apart. I’ve got no idea what’s going on at the factory but it doesn’t sound great.”
However, it all came good in the end as they managed to get the Pinapple and Chilli Chutney right and outsold their rivals Bellissimo Sauce two to one to give Team Sterling their first win.
