Sean Conlon a former member of the 90’s boyband 5ive auditioned for The Voice this year but left disappointed after none of the judges liked it vocals.
The 30 year old singer told Reggie Yates and Holly Willoughby that he was first to leave 5ive and described himself as a cartoon character at the time. He added:
“The fact that it’s a blind audition works in my favour. At the end of the day, Sean from 5ive doesn’t really come into it. If one of the coaches turns round, it’s because of my voice. It’s the consequences of what I’m doing that kind of worries me. What will the reaction be?”
Sean sang Coldplay’s Trouble and accompanied himself on the keyboard. However the piece left the judges unimpressed, but Jessie J came close to pushing her button, but withdrew at the last minute.
After his performance Conlon revealed to the judges his 5ive background, because they didn’t recognize him at all. Jessie J told him that they were the first concert she ever went to.
At the end of his disappointing audition, Sean admitted:
“I’m pretty gutted. I would’ve liked to go on, but it wasn’t meant to be.”
