This week the contestants performed songs by the king of pop, the late Michael Jackson. They did this with the knowledge that two of them would be eliminated from the competition and therefore tried even harder to impress the public and the Jackson family who were sitting in the audience.
As usual with a double elimination, the act with the lowest vote leaves the competition immediately while the next two acts with the lowest votes go through to the sing-off.
Unfortunately for Astro, he received the lowest votes from the America public. Unlike two weeks ago, Astro accepted the news with a smile and thanked his fans for support. “I will be back,” Astro told viewers. “I loved my time (on the x factor).
It was later revealed that Drew and Marcus were the two acts who polled the next lowest votes and would be in the sing off.
Drew chose to sing Roxette’s ‘Listen To Your Heart’ while Marcus opted for Gladys Knight & The Pips’ ‘Neither One of Us’.
After their performances, L.A., Paula and Nicole voted to send Drew home. Simon, who is mentor to Drew, looked pretty frustrated with the decision.
