Cyrus Todiwala spiced pecan pie recipe on Saturday Kitchen

Cyrus Todiwala served up a delicious spiced pecan pie dessert with cloves and star annes served with ice cream on Saturday Kitchen.

Cyrus says: “Give pecan pie a flavour twist with cloves, cinnamon and star anise.”

The ingredients are: 370g plain flour, plus extra for dusting, 180g salted butter, chopped into small pieces, 4 small cloves, finely crushed, pinch ground star anise and 8-10 tbsp chilled water.

For the filling: 125g butter, 100g golden syrup, 100g Muscovado or soft brown sugar, 3 medium free-range eggs, 300g pecan nut halves and ¼ tsp ground cinnamon.

To serve: vanilla ice cream or fresh cream.
