Cheryl Cole has been nominated for two Brit Awards this year in the best British female solo artist and best British single gong for her hit Parachute.

However, Cheryl Cole does have competition from other X Factor stars because both Matt Cardle and Olly Murs are also nominated in the best British Single category.

The annual UK music awards ceremony honours the best home-grown and international talent and the X Factor judge nominations were revealed at last nights glitzy ceremony at the IndigO2 venue in London.

Other artist nominated for awards includes Tinie Tempah who is up for four awards, Cee Lo Green will battle it out with Kanye West and Eminem for the international male solo artist and Eminem is also up for best international album for Recovery.

The BRIT Awards 2011 will take place at London’s O2 Arena on February 15 and will be hosted by James Corden.
