Dannii Minogue has been named the ‘Celeb of the Year’ by Metro newspaper readers.

Fresh from winning the X Factor this year with her ace act Matt Cardle, the fashion designer picked up the award for the second time in three years after winning the annual readers’ poll.

In an open letter published in the newspaper, Minogue thanked fans for their support and promised to return to the UK  in the new year.

“I’ll be doing stuff with Project D, a few new chapters for the paperback of the book and X Factor I hope,” she said.

“That’s everyone’s biggest question. What’s happening in the US and here? Is it still on? Are the dates changing? I have just as many questions as you guys.”

Minogue added: “This year has been insane. I’ve done all the things I really wanted to do.

“I think the hardest thing was doing the TV show Style Queen on top of everything because it was hard just to get Project D up and running in time.”

“I can’t wait to make our place in Melbourne a home now. There are boxes everywhere which drives me nuts but I don’t even care if nothing’s perfect – we’re going to have our first Christmas there. It’s normally at my parents’ place but I said this year we’ll have it at our house.”
