Simon Cowell at The X Factor press conference today revealed that he his planning a new Saturday night TV show.

The music mogul indicated that the new show would go out on ITV and would be a showcase for British talent.

Although details were sketchy, Cowell dropped a few hints saying. “There is always room for more music … and we will be doing something on Saturday nights.”

His revelation leads to speculation that his new show could have something to do with the UK charts but neither Cowell or ITV would confirm the exact nature of the show. However, a ITV insiders revealed that the idea was being actively discussed, for a show that could be on air next year

Cowell already has a hectic work schedule next year, which includes appearing on both the UK and US versions of The X Factor as well as his role in Britain’s Got Talent. It is not known whether Cowell will appear in the new show, but his commitments suggested that might be unlikely.
