Cheryl Cole has said that she will always be around to offer guidance to X Factor‘s Cher Lloyd.

The ‘Promise This’  singer insisted that she wouldn’t be abandoning the 17-year-old when the series ends, claiming that she will be behind Cher “every step of the way”.

“I will always be here to help her and guide her,” Cole said on The Xtra Factor. “I think when you are 17 it is tough. She’s changing all the time in her mind.

“It’s tough in this industry… She’s still got a lot of growing to do in every single way. And I will be behind her every step of the way.”

Simon Cowell confessed that it is “hard” for Lloyd to be under so much pressure at such a young age, but Louis Walsh defended the decision to have her on the X Factor.

“This is what she wants to do with her life. A performer, singer, rapper… whatever. And she’s a little fighter, make no mistake,” said Louis.
