The X Factor hot new boyband One Direction, enjoyed their day out at Wembley last week so much so that they have been drafted in to give their support to England’s World Cup Bid.

The boys have joined other members of these years X Factor series including the judges and the shows host Dermot O’Leary, to add their names to an illustrious list of backers including Prince William, David Beckham, Daniel Craig, Lewis Hamilton and Robbie Williams.

After meeting some of the England squad including captain Rio Ferdinand at the England v France, Harry Styles, from One Direction, said:

“It was fantastic fun to meet Rio at Wembley and we talked about how good it would be to have a World Cup in England. The stadium is amazing and the atmosphere in a World Cup final there would be unreal.

“As a Manchester United fan, I also know that a tournament in England would create a buzz right across the country.”
