James Tanner serves up spiced nuts on Lorraine for the festive season that is quick and easy to make.
The ingredients are: 700g mixed nuts, 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon, 1/2 tsp ground cumin, 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper, 6 tbsp brown sugar, 4 tbsp unsalted butter, 1 tsp fine salt and 1 tbsp water.
To prepare the nuts, heat them in a dry non stick pan stirring constantly to toast slightly, then add the butter stir into the nuts and let them colour a little so golden brown.
Add the sugar, salt, spices and water cook until the nuts are completely glazed in the ingredients stirring constantly for around 4 minutes.
Lay a sheet of grease proof paper on a baking tray and pour the nuts onto the tray separate them with a fork if any are stuck together and leave to cool completely.
