Nadia Sawalha makes delicious flapjacks for the festive season on today’s episode of Lorraine.
The ingredients are: 50g walnuts, 4 dried dates, 40g of sour cherries, 30g cranberries, 30g chopped hazelnuts,1 tbsp ground almonds, 50g butter, 100g golden caster sugar, 2 tbsp golden syrup, 100g porridge oats, 100g rolled oats and 100g white chocolate.
To prepare the flapjacks, turn the oven on to 180C/Gas 4.
Roughly chop the walnuts and dates then put in a food processor with the sour cherries and the cranberries.
Add a spoonful of ground almonds and blitz together leaving chunks of the nuts and fruit then tip into a large mixing bowl along with the hazelnuts.
In a pan melt the butter with the sugar and golden syrup.
Then mix the butter mixture in the oats, fruit and nuts and spread the mixture out in an oven tray then bake for 25 minutes.
Melt the chocolate in a bowl over simmering water.
When the flapjacks are baked cut them into rectangles and drizzle with the snowy white chocolate.
