Monica Galetti’s cuttlefish skills test proved a tough recipe for seventh group of chefs on MasterChef The Professionals 2014.
It is day ten of MasterChef The Professionals, and the four chefs from the five that started the day and made it pass the Signature Dish Test, will have to impress Monica Galetti and Greg Wallace in the Skills Test to give themselves a chance of making the quarter-finals.
They must sharpen their seafood skills and make a version of Monica’s cuttlefish dish. Cuttlefish are relations of squid and octopus and similar in taste, they are also known as the ink fish. Cuttlefish have a large head with a bone-like structure, small tentacles and contain copious amounts of black ink that is harvested for use in pasta and risotto.
The chefs must use their wits, culinary knowledge and common sense to create a dish that impresses in just 15 minutes.
