Monica Galetti whelks and winkles recipe test the sixth group of chefs on MasterChef The Professionals 2014.

It is day eight of MasterChef The Professionals and the four chefs from the five that started the day and made it pass the Signature Dish Test, will have to impress Monica Galetti and Greg Wallace in the Skills Test to give themselves a chance of making the quarter-finals.

They must home in on their seafood skills and make a version of Monica’s whelks and winkles dish. Whelks and winkles are two very common species of shellfish found all around the coastline of Britain and Ireland.

The chefs must use their wits, culinary knowledge and common sense to create a dish that impresses in just 15 minutes.
