Simon Rimmer make a tasty beef Bourguignon Pie for a winter warmer on Daily Brunch.
The Ingredients are: 900g chuck steak, cut into 5cm cubes, 200ml red wine, 1 tbsp fresh thyme, 1 bay leaf, 1 garlic clove, chopped, 1 tbsp vegetable oil, 100g bacon lardons, 1 onion, sliced, 1 carrot, sliced, 30g plain flour, 30g tomato purée, 300ml beef stock, 50g butter, 16 small shallots, 300g button mushrooms, 500g block puff pastry, 1 egg, whisked, 1 handful fresh parsley, chopped and 1 kg boiled potatoes , to serve.
