Dominic Chapman serves up a wild rabbit and bacon pie dish that was a treat for Brain Turner and Janet Street-Porter at Sir Michael Parkinson’s The Royal Oak restaurant on A Taste of Britain.
The duo were on a visit to the Themes Valley when they decided to check out The Royal Oak at Paley Street, owned by Sir Michael Parkinson. Chef Dominic Chapman then tries to impress Janet with his rabbit pie and succeeded.
Sir Michael The Royal Oak seven years ago, with clear ambitions to be much more than a cosy retirement project. His recruitment of head chef Dominic Chapman from The Hinds Head, Heston Blumenthal’s gastropub in nearby Bray was an indication of the standards he wanted to set. Since then, the Royal Oak has been gathering critical mass, culminating in the recent award of a Michelin star.
