Gino D’Acampo cooks a chicken biryani dish based on Melanie Sykes Mum’s recipe on Let’s Do Lunch with special guest Adam Ant and Louis Smith helping out in the kitchen.
The ingredients for the fried rice: 1 lb Basmati rice, 3 fluid oz veg oil, 1 large onion, thinly sliced, 1 dessert spoon Garam Masala, 2 cardoman pods, Salt to taste, 8oz frozen garden peas and Boiling water.
For the marinade: 6 chicken breasts, 1 large tub of natural yoghurt, 1 1/2 desertspoons of Garam Masala, 1 tsp chilli powder and 1/2 tsp salt.
For the sauce: 1 large onion, sliced thinly, 2 1/2 fluid oz veg oil, 1 1/2 dessert spoon coriander powder, 1 1/2 dessert spoon cumin powder, 1/2 tsp chilli powder, 2 tsp tumeric powder, 1 1/2 tsp garlic powder, 1 tsp ginger powder and 3 dessert spoons tomato puree.
