Food ingredients at West Ham Bus Garage proved a test for the contestants on Celebrity MasterChef 2014

It is the second week of Celebrity MasterChef and the second group of cooks are faced with the challenge of cooking in a bus depot.

However, the five celebs that started the week has been reduce to just four for today’s tasks following Ken Morley’s departure yesterday after failing to impress the food gods.

The first challenge for the remaining celebs today is a knowledge and skills test. They must demonstrate their ability to identify a tray of ingredients, four different types of seafood and four types of salad leaf, before being asked to make a prawn cocktail from scratch in just 12 minutes.

For the second task the celebrities are paired into teams and sent out on their first mass catering challenge. They must provide lunch for over 100 drivers and other staff at the West Ham bus depot.

With ingredients including minced beef, chicken breast and a range of fruit and vegetables the celebrities must produce meat based, vegetarian and dessert dishes on time to satisfy the hungry bus drivers. In the heat of the kitchen the celebrities have to rely on teamwork skills as well as their culinary ones to triumph.

The third and final task sees the celebs return to MasterChef kitchen to cook a faultless two-course meal that will not only be judged by John and Gregg but also past Celebrity MasterChef champions, former England rugby captain Phil Vickery, previous finalists Andi Peters and Janet Street Porter who know exactly what standards they expect and aren’t afraid to say exactly what they think.

Amanda Burton, Emma Barton, Alison Hammond and JB Gill have to give it their best effort, if they are to book their place in the semi-finals.
