Mary Berry served up her granny’s gingerbread with golden syrup and black treacle for bonfire night on Mary Berry’s Simple Comforts.
The ingredients are: 225g self-raising flour, 1 tsp bicarbonate of soda, 2 tbsp ground ginger, 1 tsp ground mixed spice, 100g butter, diced, 100g black treacle, 100g golden syrup, 100g light muscovado sugar, 1 free-range egg, beaten and 275ml full-fat milk.
