Mary Berry served up a delicious coffee and praline (caramel with hazelnuts) cake on Mary Berry’s Simple Comforts.
The ingredients are: 1 tbsp coffee granules, 4 large free-range eggs, 225g baking spread, plus extra for greasing, 225g caster sugar, 225g self-raising flour and 1 tsp baking powder.
For the praline: 100g granulated sugar and 75g shelled hazelnuts.
For the coffee buttercream: 1 tbsp coffee granules, 125g unsalted butter, softened and 225g icing sugar.
