Mary Berry served up a delicious pear pudding with black treacle and toffee sauce on Mary Berry’s Simple Comforts.
The ingredients are: 1x 400g tin of pears halves, drained and dried, 75g butter, softened, plus extra for greasing, 150g light muscovado sugar, 2 large eggs, 175g self-raising flour, 1 tsp bicarbonate of soda, 2 tbsp black treacle and 125ml milk.
For the sauce: 100g butter, 175g light muscovado sugar, 400ml double cream, ½ tsp vanilla extract and 2 tbsp black treacle.
