Rachel Allen served up pistachio and cardamom swirls for the festive season on Saturday Mornings with James Martin.
The ingredients are: 50g butter, softened, plus extra for greasing, 375g plain flour, plus extra for dusting, 1tsp baking powder, 1tsp ground cardamom, 25g caster sugar, 1 egg, 200ml milk, 2tbsp runny honey and 25g pistachio nuts, shelled and lightly toasted, roughly chopped.
For the filling: 100g butter, softened, 1tsp ground cardamom, Zest of one lemon, 100g caster sugar and 100g pistachio nuts, chopped.
