Paul Ainsworth bangers and mash recipe on Royal Recipes

Paul Ainsworth served up bangers and mash using BBQ Cumberland sausages, jacket potatoes and onion gravy on Royal Recipes with Michael Buerk. The dish is said to be a favourite of Prince Harry.

The ingredients are: 4 baking potatoes, knob of butter, plus extra to serve, 2 Cumberland sausage rings, sea salt and black pepper.

For the red onion gravy: olive oil, 25g butter, 2 red onions, finely sliced, 2 tsp dark brown soft sugar, 2 tsp plain flour, 200ml red wine, 500ml chicken stock and ½ tsp English mustard.
