James Martin served up a apple and treacle tart dessert on Saturday Mornings with James Martin.
The ingredients for the pastry: 250g plain flour, 125g butter and 1 egg, plus 1 egg yolk.
For the filling: 400g golden syrup, 150g fresh white breadcrumbs, 2 eggs, 2 lemons, zest and juice, 4 English apples, sliced and ½ tsp sea salt.
For the glaze: 25g melted butter.
To serve: Clotted cream.
