Anna Haugh served up maids of honour tarts on today’s episode of Royal Recipes with Michael Buerk.

the tarts are said to be a favourite of King Henry VIII.

The ingredients are: 375g puff pastry, 50g butter, softened, 50g caster sugar, 1 free-range egg, beaten, 1 tbsp plain flour, 50g ground almonds, ½ tsp grated nutmeg or ground mace, 2 lemons, zest only and 100g curd cheese.
