Today Nigel makes a lovely bit of party food on this the last in the present series of Nigel and Adam’s Farm Kitchen.
In his sausage Danish snack, meat is crumbled onto buttery puff pastry and speckled with fennel seeds to make a perfect snack for parties or picnics.
To make his snack, Nigel’s ingredients includes: plain flour, all-butter puff pastry, sausages, fennel seeds, and free-range egg.
Nigel also made a quick and simple sauce to go with the snack by adding chopped apples to a pan with apple juice and brought to the boil.
When the apples were softened, he mashes them before adding cardamom pods seeds to the dish.
I am not a great fan of sausages, so I tend to think that somehow this dish could work as a vegetarian option if the sausages where substituted for perhaps quorn or other meat substitutes.
