The four chefs that cooked their way to the finals are: Adam from London, Scott from St. Andrews, Tom from the Cotswolds and Steven from Horsham.
For their first task of the finals, Michel Roux Jr and Monica Galetti have come up with a stomach churning task that will push the finalists to the absolute extremes of their cooking ability.
The finalists must create two exceptional plates of food, but this time from kitchen scraps. Failure to impress at this stage will cost them greatly because after judging their dishes, Michel and Monica will send one more chef home.
To secure their place, the chefs must deliver in this Invention Test with a difference. Gone are the array of quality ingredients they are used to cooking with and instead the judges ask them to make their dishes from left-overs including meat bones, chicken carcasses, fish trimmings, vegetable peelings, stale croissants and bread and overripe fruit.
The chefs must dig deep into their repertoire and show off versatility and imagination if they are to rise to the challenge and remain in the competition.
