Jordin Sparks was born in Phoenix, Arizona and before
entering American Idol, she won many singing competitions in the state
of Arizona including KSAZ Fox 10’s Arizona Idol.
In the summer of 2006 she auditioned for American Idol, but somehow
managed to audition twice in two separate states.
Jordin is the daughter of a former NFL football player. She recorded
her first album at age thirteen working with Mathew Ward and Gary
Leach; two well know figures in the Christian music field. Jordin’s
album was titled ‘For Now’ and contained five songs.
At the age of seventeen, Jordin won American Idol making her the
youngest winner of the show. Since leaving the competition she went on
to release a very successful debut album that featured R&B star
Chris Brown on one of the tracks released as a single. The single ‘No
Air’ became one of the most downloaded songs of any former Idol
contestants.
