This year Gary was told to manage the Overs category by X Factor boss Simon Cowell and we believe it was the right. For too many years Louis Walsh have made this category a laughing stock, and finally with Gary in charge this category can once again be taken seriously.<\/p>\n

For his judges home location in this series, Gary decided to stay at home in the UK\u2013 which is perhaps a first for an X Factor since the series started.<\/p>\n

However, as far as British homes go it does not get much better than this. Gary and his X Factor team stayed at Boughton House a stately home in Northamptonshire which is the home of the Duke of Buccleuch.<\/p>\n

The Boughton Estate is known as the “English Versailles” because of the magnificent gardens and Grade I-listed park.<\/p>\n

Gary\u2019s guest judge was none other than singer and former X Factor judge Cheryl Cole. The pair arrived on the estate in true style by helicopter to meet this year\u2019s crop of Over 28\u2019s hopeful – Kye Sones, Melanie Masson, Nicola Marie, Brad Shackleton, Carolynne Poole and Christopher Maloney.<\/p>\n

While the contestants soak up the opulent surroundings, they had to stay focus on the job at hand and remember that only three of them will make the X Factor live shows.
