In the book she reveals how her single minded determination has been behind her rise to the top.<\/p>\n<p>She writes, \u201cI have a desire for independence, the need for control \u2013 or what others call sheer bloody-mindedness.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut recently I\u2019ve had to dwell on why I became who I am. I don\u2019t reflect on such things easily because I\u2019ve never been an emotional person. I\u2019m logic personified.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLooking back over my life, I tried to work out how and where the desire for independence began to make itself felt\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She also her early schooling looking back at the first day at school at the tender age of five, \u201cPicking me up after my first day, my mum asked the teacher how I had got on.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe had been worried, my mum admitted, because I was very shy. \u2018Which one is your daughter?\u2019 the teacher asked. \u2018Karren Brady\u2019 said my mother.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The teacher replied, \u201cKarren Brady? Shy? She walked in, pulled a boy off his chair and said, \u2018That\u2019s my seat.
