Before taking to the stage, the talented Mississippi native said:
\n\u2018What\u2019s different about me is that I want to become a country singer, because you don\u2019t find a lot of black teenagers that sing country music.\u2019
\nHowever, on stage his rendition of the Billy Currington\u2019s number did not get off to a good start because the backing track failed. For most people this would be a disaster, but Anderson kept right on singing, putting a bit more effort into his vocals and suddenly went from being an average singer to a contender to go all the way in the competition.
