The album is the follow-up to her multi platinum debut solo album 3 Words released in 2009, following seven successful years as a member of girl group Girls Aloud. <\/p>\n<p>Messy Little Raindrops was recorded in Los Angeles and London. Working with Cheryl Cole on the album was Wayne Wilkins who previously produced Cole&#8217;s number one single \u201cFight For This Love\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The album has a more dance pop sound than Cole&#8217;s previous album but has received generally mixed reviews from music critics.
