{"id":23477,"date":"2014-12-19T21:08:36","date_gmt":"2014-12-19T20:08:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/thetalentzone.co.uk\/musictv\/?p=23477"},"modified":"2014-12-19T22:27:57","modified_gmt":"2014-12-19T21:27:57","slug":"mary-berry-mulled-wine-recipe-on-mary-berrys-absolute-christmas-favourites","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/thetalentzone.co.uk\/musictv\/23477\/mary-berry-mulled-wine-recipe-on-mary-berrys-absolute-christmas-favourites\/","title":{"rendered":"Mary Berry mulled wine recipe On Mary Berry&#8217;s Absolute Christmas Favourites"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Mary Berry makes mulled wine for the festive season on Mary Berry&#8217;s Absolute Christmas Favourites.<\/p>\n<p>Mary says: &#8220;The smell of mulled wine alone is enough to make the home feel Christmassy &#8211; keep a pot of this on hand for visitors.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The ingredients are: 1 large orange, 3 lemons, 12 cloves, 2 satsumas or clementines, 2 x 750ml bottles red wine, 2 cinnamon sticks, 150g caster sugar (optional) and brandy, to taste (optional).<\/p>\n<p>To prepare the wine, peel the zest very thinly from the orange and lemons using a vegetable peeler the squeeze out the juice and set aside.<\/p>\n<p>Stick the cloves into the satsumas.<\/p>\n<p>Pour the wine, 1.2 litres of cold water, and the citrus peel and juices into a large, heavy-based saucepan. <\/p>\n<p>Add the clove-studded satsumas and cinnamon sticks then bring the mixture to the boil and reduce the heat until the mixture is simmering.<\/p>\n<p>Cover the pan with the lid, and continue to simmer for about 1 hour.<\/p>\n<p>Stir in the sugar gradually during cooking, until the mulled wine is sweetened to your liking.<\/p>\n<p>Strain the mulled wine and serve hot in cups.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/thetalentzone.co.uk\/musictv\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/mulled-wine.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/thetalentzone.co.uk\/musictv\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/mulled-wine.png\" alt=\"\" title=\"mulled wine\" width=\"570\" height=\"336\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-23484\" srcset=\"http:\/\/thetalentzone.co.uk\/musictv\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/mulled-wine.png 570w, http:\/\/thetalentzone.co.uk\/musictv\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/mulled-wine-300x176.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 570px) 100vw, 570px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><script type=\"text\/javascript\"><!--\ngoogle_ad_client = \"ca-pub-0466605792016836\";\n\/* food and drink *\/\ngoogle_ad_slot = \"3648486817\";\ngoogle_ad_width = 300;\ngoogle_ad_height = 250;\n\/\/-->\n<\/script><br \/>\n<script type=\"text\/javascript\"\nsrc=\"http:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/show_ads.js\">\n<\/script><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Mary Berry makes mulled wine for the festive season on Mary Berry&#8217;s Absolute Christmas Favourites.
