{"id":22376,"date":"2014-12-06T11:45:20","date_gmt":"2014-12-06T10:45:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/thetalentzone.co.uk\/musictv\/?p=22376"},"modified":"2014-12-06T11:49:49","modified_gmt":"2014-12-06T10:49:49","slug":"rick-stein-peas-braised-with-onions-and-parma-ham-recipe-on-saturday-kitchen","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/thetalentzone.co.uk\/musictv\/22376\/rick-stein-peas-braised-with-onions-and-parma-ham-recipe-on-saturday-kitchen\/","title":{"rendered":"Rick Stein peas braised with onions and Parma ham  recipe on Saturday Kitchen"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Rick Stein cooks a easy to make dish of peas braised with onions and Parma ham in Sicily on Saturday Kitchen.<\/p>\n<p>The ingredients are : 3 14g extra virgin olive oil, 12 button onions, peeled, 2 tablespoons water, 3 14g parma ham, thickly sliced, 2 garlic cloves, thinly sliced, 1 lb peas (freshly shelled or frozen), salt and freshly ground black pepper, 2 tablespoons fresh flat leaf parsley, roughly chopped.<\/p>\n<p>To prepare the dish, heat two tablespoons of the olive oil in a medium-sized pan, add the onions and fry until lightly golden on all sides. Add the water, cover and simmer for five minutes until just tender.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, chop the parma ham, trimmings or the pancetta into small pieces. <\/p>\n<p>Uncover the pan, add the remaining oil, garlic and ham or pancetta and cook for a minute or two.<\/p>\n<p>Add the peas, 3\/4 teaspoon salt and plenty of freshly ground black pepper. Cover and simmer gently for 15 minutes until the peas are very tender and the flavours have had time to amalgamate.<\/p>\n<p>Stir in the parsley two minutes before the end of cooking.
