Despite the name, it actually hails from Macao.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The ingredients are: For the marinade: 450g boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into 2.5cm pieces, 1\u00bd tbsp light soy sauce, 2 tbsp white wine, 2 tsp salt, 2 tsp sesame oil and 2 tsp cornflour.<\/p>\n<p>For the galinha \u00e0 Portuguesa: 1\u00bd tbsp olive oil, 1 tbsp finely chopped fresh root ginger, 2 tsp finely chopped garlic, 1 tbsp light soy sauce, 1 tbsp dark soy sauce, 1 tbsp Shaoxing rice wine or dry sherry, 3 tbsp Madras curry paste or curry powder, 1 tbsp turmeric, 1 tsp salt, 1 x 400ml tin coconut milk, 200ml chicken stock, 250g carrots, cut into 5cm pieces, 250g potatoes, peeled and cut into large chunks, 1 onion, chopped, 2 tomatoes, chopped, 50g cooking chorizo, sliced, 2 bay leaves and salt and freshly ground white pepper, to taste.<\/p>\n<p>For the garnish: 2 tbsp desiccated coconut and 100g black olives.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/thetalentzone.co.uk\/musictv\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/Portuguese-chicken-curry2.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/thetalentzone.co.uk\/musictv\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/Portuguese-chicken-curry2.png\" alt=\"\" title=\"Portuguese chicken curry2\" width=\"570\" height=\"306\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-21743\" srcset=\"http:\/\/thetalentzone.co.uk\/musictv\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/Portuguese-chicken-curry2.png 570w, http:\/\/thetalentzone.co.uk\/musictv\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/Portuguese-chicken-curry2-300x161.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 570px) 100vw, 570px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><script type=\"text\/javascript\"><!--\ngoogle_ad_client = \"ca-pub-0466605792016836\";\n\/* food and drink *\/\ngoogle_ad_slot = \"3648486817\";\ngoogle_ad_width = 300;\ngoogle_ad_height = 250;\n\/\/-->\n<\/script><br \/>\n<script type=\"text\/javascript\"\nsrc=\"http:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/show_ads.js\">\n<\/script><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Ken Hom cooks Portuguese-style chicken (Galinha \u00e0 Portuguesa ) Chinese curry on Saturday Kitchen.
