We are therefore very keen to see what Paul and Mary thinks of her baking each week, our guess is that for this competition her baking strategy could prove costly. <\/p>\n<p>The furniture upholsterer uses baking as a way to get involved in neighbourhood causes in her hometown, but she is also a trained actress and performed on stage for a couple of years before working in advertising and design agencies. <\/p>\n<p>Kate moved to Brighton to bring her daughter up and started her upholstery business that she runs from home, breathing new life into furniture with various textures and colours. Community-minded, every year Kate organises a street party and she loves to bake for her family \u2013 last year she made 15 Christmas cakes!<\/p>\n<p>Kate considers herself to be a creative baker and treats every bake as an experiment.
