{"id":16677,"date":"2014-07-04T12:27:59","date_gmt":"2014-07-04T11:27:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/thetalentzone.co.uk\/musictv\/?p=16677"},"modified":"2014-07-05T10:38:48","modified_gmt":"2014-07-05T09:38:48","slug":"phil-vickery-cherry-pie-recipe-for-american-independence-day-on-this-morning","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/thetalentzone.co.uk\/musictv\/16677\/phil-vickery-cherry-pie-recipe-for-american-independence-day-on-this-morning\/","title":{"rendered":"Phil Vickery Cherry Pie recipe for American Independence day on This Morning"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Phil Vickery makes cherry pie for American Independence day on This Morning.<\/p>\n<p>The ingredients are: 2 discs of sweet dessert pastry, 2 x 400g cans good quality black cherries, drained well, 2 heaped tbsp any brown sugar, 2 tbsp cornflour, 4 tbsp cold water, 1 medium egg and Granulated sugar for sprinkling on top of the pie.<\/p>\n<p>To prepare the pie, pre-heat the oven to 180C.<\/p>\n<p>Place the cherries into a saucepan and add a little of the strained juice, add the sugar and mix well.<\/p>\n<p>Heat and then thicken with a little of the cornflour and water, once thickened, cool for 15 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Line the loose bottomed tart case with one disc of pastry, leaving a good overlap.<\/p>\n<p>Pour into the lined tart, moisten the edges with a little beaten egg. Top with the second disc, seal the edges well. Cut off any excess pastry and crimp decoratively.<\/p>\n<p>Brush with beaten egg, and sprinkle with sugar, make three small incisions in the top of the pie and place in the oven.<\/p>\n<p>Cook for 30-40 minutes until the top of the pie is golden.<\/p>\n<p>Remove from the oven and cool before eating.
